Normally I do try not to have any posts that’s hurting to other companies when it comes to food but to have gone through a breakfast meal that spoils my whole morning is quite devastating.
What Happen?
After going through a long period of economic Bee Hoon, I was looking for a nice outlet to have my breakfast and there you have it – choices like McDonald’s MegaMeals or KFC’s a.m Meals.
Both Meals are the latest releases by both restaurants and it’s quite hard to choose from. Since KFC did a good job in sending me a promotional leaflet to my mailbox the night before and that gave me a lasting impression – therefore I decided to give that a try!
I have ordered the KFC a.m. Twister Meal (Original Recipe) together with the KFC a.m. Waffles & Eggs Meal and these set meals cost me S$11.70 (that’s my 4 days of Economic Bee Hoon!).
The presentation of the meals is pleasant and looks quite enticing and mouth-watering. I am all ready to enjoy the meal.
The Initial Pleasure
The first few bites of the a.m Twister is good especially with the juicyness of the tomatoes and mayonnaise. The softness of the eggs goes well with the Twister as well! The thin wafer skin piece or what we call it as “Prata” seems to melt easily in your mouth.
I could easily give that experience a 8/10!
The Horror Starts…
What is the selling point of KFC? It’s the Original Recipe Chicken, right? But upon taking a few bites of those chicken fillet pieces, everything seems to go wrong! Half way down the Twister, the throat feels very dry and I feel bloated. To continue to finish the Twister seems like a torture! (I did as I do not like to waste food and I manage to finish everything with the help of the chilli sauce!)
…the Worst Tasting Waffles and Eggs Meal
Have you tasted plain flour? If not, taste the Waffles and you’ll know what it’s like. Waffles come with Honey and Butter right? This meal only comes with Butter but where’s the honey? Does it make sense to apply chilli sauce to my Waffles? The only difference between this Waffles and those available outside is that there’s a bit of sweetness inside!
The Eggs are just as bad… Even after adding the Salt and Pepper to the scrambled eggs… They still taste bland!
This experience is (if there’s a negative value), it would be -5/10.
The Newest Creation Is The Worst Creation
I know I have listed quite a few negative experience about the new meal, but there’s still this last bit to lament on and I will summarize it with just a sentence…
The newest creation of the Honey Biscuit is actually worse than those plain biscuit.
After tasting this horrible breakfast, I was asking myself – Did those Managers ever tasted these meals before? What’s their ratings for the meals?
In summary, for this meal that states “today starts here” my addition to that line is “it also ends right there”
