Check Out Intuit Online Payroll For Those Running A Small Business

by Dexter Damien Chan on November 13, 2011

For those who are currently running a small business with employees and are looking for some payroll employee benefits and have been doing quite a fair bit of searches and comparisons – have you included in Intuit Pay Roll yet?

Intuit & QuickBook Goes A Long Way Back For Me…

Back when (around 9 years back) I was starting out trying to create and run my own business (back then was a referral middleman for florist shop) – I was very fascinated with those accounting and payroll software and service and one particular product that was very popular back then was (and still is) Intuit’s Quickbook!

I can still remember the excitement when I created my first invoice out from it after a fair bit of meddling because I do not have any knowledge of what’s needed and what’s best to go into an invoice but Quickbook helped me quite a long…

For My USA Readers – Check Out Yipit For Your Daily Deals

by Dexter Damien Chan on October 23, 2011

A quick shout out… if you are in the US and looking for great daily deals (similar to Groupon but not Groupon), do check out Yipt! A good start, especially if you are in New York City, start checking out Yipit’s New York City Daily Deal!

Something That I Like About Yipit

I was just surfing around and looking at those many Daily Deals sites that are coming out and finding ways to give my emails away… and the only issue that I have with most of these sites is that they send all sorts of daily deals to my inbox and those that are relevant to me are sometimes buried in one of those deal boxes…

For Yipit… the initial signing up part is kind of refreshing because this site allows me to choose deals that are relevant to my interests. Just check out this screenshot:

This is the part that I like because it seems like Yipit cares about what you like and they will send deals that are related to your interests… and they even…

Yup! Yipit allows you to input locations (deals around a particular place, e.g. workplace or your home) so that they are send you deals that you can apply at a place that’s near you!

Most of the Daily Deal Sites that I am in… have a lot of deals that are located in the Western Region when I am working in the Central and staying in the North East Region. Less chances for me to go there despite the fact that Singapore is actually very small and travelling around is not that time-consuming at all.

But nonetheless, it’s good to have such a site like Yipit around, and I do hope that some of the daily deal sites can have this feature of letting me sort through the categories or the places that I get to see special deals…

I Think This Site That I Have Found Is Really Spammy

by Dexter Damien Chan on October 3, 2011

I do not know if you agree with me, but I seriously think that this Planet49.com.sg is quite a spammy site.

Why do I say so? You are basically giving your precious contact information like Name and Precious Email Address in exchange for a chance to “win $10,000 worth of vouchers” and also a ton of other emails that will be sent out by their “partners”.

Other Signs That I Feel That The Site Is Spammy

Once you are over at that site, you will be hit by Pop-Ups. And in case that you do not know, these Pop-Ups will let this company earn some pocket money in exchange for the views generated by these Pop-Ups.

And if the vouchers are not attracting you, you may be tempted to hit this image button:

The next moment… you will be presented with a chance to “win an iPad 2″ and amidst those fine little prints, you get these chunk of little requirements:

You will need to answer a series of questions that cost you $3.00 for each question sent and if you feel so smart, you may as well be spending your way up to the maximum $500 – and you are already paying for half of an iPad 2. Bring in another person who is smart in answering, and that iPad 2 is already paid for…

And a few more… and they will be contributing to the annual revenue of the company for that year… also not forgetting your precious phone number is already being released to the partners who will try to contact you to entice you to get more of their stuffs…

My First Shoe Purchase From Shoes.com And Tarazz.com

by Dexter Damien Chan on September 5, 2011

Thanks to Labor Day In the US, I have gotten my pair of shoes (a GEOX Federico) from Shoes.com and delivered by Tarazz.com. My first online purchase and a change to enjoy great savings!

The Kind Of Savings That I Enjoyed…

If you have been to the GEOX Retail Store in Singapore and have explored a pair of GEOX Federico before, you would notice that a pair is being sold at SGD $240.

And if you head over to Shoes.com, you would notice that the same pair of shoes is being sold at just US$120 (are you shocked at this distinct large difference… don’t ask me why… I do not know also). With the Labor Day holiday, there’s a small discount of US$6 and an extra discount coupon of 25% on top of everything! (If you do the calculation, this pair of shoes is now just around US$86)

This is the Discount and the Final Price…

But… if you decide to directly ship it through Shoes.com, you will notice that their International Shipping will eat away all the discounts. If you do it through Amazon.com (they have their Global Shipping Program), you will notice that they are not sending this pair to Singapore due to some forms of restriction.

Lastly, if you do it through Tarazz.com – you will get to have this pair of shoes ordered and delivered. And due to their current delivery promotion, their overseas delivery cost is just around SGD $22. You can go wow again if you are shocked by the amount you get to save!

This Is Currently The Status Of My Online Purchase
